Here's another issue:
The hash symbol (#) at the end of the last array element is causing a problem when submitting my solution to the server. It is probably being misinterpreted as part of the URL or something (my best guess). I painstakingly tested every line of my program to narrow it down to this, so I am sure it is this hash symbol that is causing the problem. Console.log confirms that I am arriving at the expected output; it just won't submit properly when I change "console.log" to a "return" statement.
A few considerations :
there are a bunch of solutions hence it is unlikely the kata is the problem
without your code posted it is impossible to know
without the error message, people are left to guess
Issues need details ... .
The described algorithm is incorrect for the key of F
['F#','C#','G#','D#','A#','E#']
are not notes in the key of F
F has one flat Bb
Bb is also A#
sharps('F') should return
['A#']
Kata's don't need to describe reality, they just need to propose problems (description updated).
Nice informative kata: ranked, upvoted, translated, if you want to approve both Ruby and Python translations :)
Thanks and nice work! All approved.

I like the creativity of the Kata! It's not the normal thing certainly but as a person who loves music I find this very inspiring.
thank you for your kind words!
