Collections are a way for you to organize kata so that you can create your own training routines. Every collection you create is public and automatically sharable with other warriors. After you have added a few kata to a collection you and others can train on the kata contained within the collection.

The reason for this was mainly to encourage efficiency, instead of a naive implementation. I'd encourage you to use the example test fixture to do smaller tests for debugging. For example, if a particular test fails, take the details given you in the failure message and create a test for it in the example test fixture. This way, you can run the full tests when ready, but do quick little tests to fix problems. Hope that helps?
