Great kata so far and it took nearly 2 hours to figure out the logic.

I don't understand why my shift method is not passing a test-case?.Do I need to consider any edge cases?.

Unfortunately it got retired already. You should check out these articles from ejini, if you want to try to publish another kata again. This one was just too simple, I think.

The characters in j are distinct.

random tests generate j = "BBbbAA" and similar.

• Please stick to Java naming conventions: class name should be Multiplication, method name should be multiplicationTable, etc.
• Tests should not log anything to stdout, it's not neecessary.
• Assertions could use some custom messages exposing input values on failure.
• TODO comment is not necessary in full tests, there's nothing to TODO there.
• Maybe a fixed test for edge case with n=1 could be useful
