sz is the size of each chunk, not in how many chunks you should cut the string. I don't see what's confusing there.
Nice. But description is a bit confusing. ("66443875", 4) --> "44668753" means that it shoud be 4 dig in each chunk and not str divided into 4 chunks. Thus ['6644', '3875']
Sadly he did not mention it in any example to make out life easier of course.

Just try to opimize it. If the logic is correct the rest is easy. Try to cut it or use different methods and one loop only.
