I can't reproduce your described behavior with neither the sample tests nor the submission tests. Make sure you have the latest version of the tests by pressing the
RESETbutton.97 is considered a decreasing number when considering numbers less than 1000, say.

The kata was updated for Rust 1.49 after you had started with 1.44.
Changing the version to 1.49 after refreshing should work.
