you actually cannot delete a kata (the button is still there, but the functionnality is sort of deactivated, to avoid DB inconsistencies). You'll have to keep it as draft, if you don't want to try to improve it further (which might very well end up in the kata being retired anyway, so, yeah, might be a loss of time for you).

If you're interested in authroing kata, you should read the docs about that before your next try.
