thank you. Finally, I managed to solve it. Sometimes, I have to be really tired to not think in a "too clear way". You konw, this period of time between totally awake and almost sleeping. It's not an example for best practices, but it works.

Hi, since I'm new here, I might better keep my mouth shut and listen. And I did. But now Ihave a problem: Either the test-routines for this Kata in Python have problems with numbers containing one or more zeroes. The second possibillity is, and that seems to be an even bigger issue to me: My solution has an extremly well hidden error. ;)
Am I allowed to post code snippets here?
For now, I'll go and do some paper-debugging.
According to my understanding, as soon as a 0 is in the number, the result itself should be 0 and therefore persistence should also be zero. Or am I wrong?

I love oneliners, especially when they are so clear and easy to read! .endswith is what I was looking for. Domo arigato.
