I'd have to agree on this one. I don't consider myself an expert on any language. But just by going through all of the 8 kyu katas in Python and I am already 7 kyu and roughly halfway to 6 kyu. I would say we should have a "test" to pass into the next ranking.

Defeats a bit the purpose of a kata, don't you think? ;)

It would be nice if a warrior had to complete at least one kata of the next kyu to actually pass to the next rank. A friend of mine got his 6th kyu by just completing 8 and 7 kyu katas.
