Thanks! I have modified it to work, assuming all objects in the list implement str. Initially I used the none to handle the edge case of the last element (since we want to compare an element to both its neighbours) but now I am just abusing negative indices to handle it.
This won't work for lists with values of different data types. And the addition of
None
makes no sense.
