Agreed. 10k tests is too many.

ranks aren't changeable once assigned. Hence my modification.

(I saw a part of your message before you edited it) problem is, the kata originally was created using 3.6 features only. the tricks you used make it way much easier, hence my changes. But 4 kyu is still close to free points for 3.8 (well, maybe not free points, but...).
