I think the Python test cases are broken. I switched to CoffeeScript, and my solution passed.

i check every single case that is interpeted as wrong with your tests in my python3.7 ide and all is correct based on your expected outputs

Just solved it, though it took time. To my point of view this is an easy kata.
The problem is that the description does not help at all.
