You are right, I forgot or missed that part of the description and only looked at the base case for that; I fixed it, not that imho that changes much, as you surely need an efficient solution to get there.

Not sure about which language you are talking about, but I checked each one of them and inputs up to 1000000000 seems to be actually checked.

Error handling is usually explicitally requested and consequently checked or not :)
