I really wanted to require the solver to look it up which may have done that. I think this is probably a better representation:
The purpose of this kata is to encourage you to the review the evolution of the mathematical concept of numerals as this history is often taken for granted. Before Fibonacci, the Western world had a didn't advance much in mathematics simply because of the representation of numbers as Roman numerals.
It helps :) still, the whole description is a bit misleading. There are many ways to represent a number, but a "String" (capital S) representation of a "Number" (capital N) is one.
"The purpose of this kata is to introduce you to the evolution of modern mathematical concepts" does not really reflect the purpose.
Oh, the shame! The vicious goblins Copy & Paste have struck again :-)
Apologies, the test case was correct but the helping text in the "expected" part was a copy of the previous test case (the halfway). I've updated the text in the test case so it shows the correct expected value.
Exactly, this is a very important matter when employing inheritance. Also, the "constructor" property should also be checked; it would fail in your solution, too.
oh i forget about the i flag (Ignore Casing)

I added a really big hint to the description text. Does that work for you?

Thank you for spotting this :-)

Could you explain?
Needs more test cases involving multiple parameters.
Is there a problem with the 1/3 test case? Its expectation is quite weird.
The definition is not related with the kata at all. Misleading and pointless.

Definitely not a 5 kyu kata with the timeout.
The description is very short, almost like lacking something but not really.
