I don't it should be considered 'best practice' to use non builtin commands like sed when there is an easy builtin solution like string manipulation in this case.

The random tests were too bad. Now your solution (and it seems around 50% of previously submitted ones) got invalidated.
And of course the tests were correct, and they were testing the right thing.
because in it's current state the conditions to pass and the statement dont match.
following the statement will pass, and most did. but its not required, and its easier to not follow it.
run my solution and you'll see the problem.
