I managed to solve both kata using the same solution, and the only thing I had to add is handling of the format. Both challenges present the same problem, and I think that if the only difference is format of inputs and outputs, then they are very, very similar. And if I had to choose, I think I like the "a1" format better than [0, 0].

Mine is simplier. Less operations -- no need to think of wrapping and sorting the answer.
Not sure about the rules -- during the first validation it doesn't suggest me that one.
