Collections are a way for you to organize kata so that you can create your own training routines. Every collection you create is public and automatically sharable with other warriors. After you have added a few kata to a collection you and others can train on the kata contained within the collection.

I don't think anybody said here authoring katas is easy. I think all the contrary. There is no personal offense in pointing out issues in a kata if there are.
You are right, authoring IS difficult. That's why (new?) authors need to think twice before starting something, to avoid this kind of inconvenience, or loss of time/work. ;)
@eptaceps: the simplest way, especially for easy kata, is to ask on discord to the community if it has been done already or not. For very easy kata, chances you don't end up with a duplicate or pretty low.

Not worth it. I don’t know how much time you spent coming up with a story-like condition and writing tests. Don't listen to people who write that it's easy. It may be easy for someone, but someone needs to think about it. I would like to see this as a kata and for different languages)
