If you use n = 1000000000 as argument, the naive solution takes 39.2 seconds. The solution with prime factors only 4.2e-05 seconds. Yes, 42µs. Literally a million times faster.
I implemented the iterative algorithm of complexity O(log n), but it is too slow. Any hints?
