Collections are a way for you to organize kata so that you can create your own training routines. Every collection you create is public and automatically sharable with other warriors. After you have added a few kata to a collection you and others can train on the kata contained within the collection.
Get started now by creating a new collection.
No, you did not. You did not have random tests. Read those docs @Hobo linked for you.
There is a big step up from solving kata to creating kata. Solving kata, and submitting your solution, is an "anything goes" scenario. When you are creating kata, they will be held to standards that are explained in those docs. There is no sandbox, no playground - they have to be production quality from the moment you hit
Publish
. And yours was not. The good news is that people can review your kata while it is inDraft
if they have the link, which you can give them in Discord (#kata-ideas
or#help-author
).The kata was retired because of the negative review from the users who solved it. Maybe try with another idea next time? There is also a discord group of Codewars where you can write your ideas and get some feedback. :)
You must have not published the changes, or something else went wrong, because the description still very clearly has multiple typos including the wrong spelling of "tongue" (you spelled it "toungue"), and I just entered the trainer to see no initial solution, and no sample tests.
All of this to say, maybe you did try to fix the issues, but they werent actually fixed (and you should be able to verify that yourself).
As a general word of advice, if you make changes to something, you should actually verify on the user-end that the changes were successfully applied.
hello Johan. Are you OK?
You sound a bit stressed mate.
hello Johan. Thanks for the reply. However I must point out that i did all those fixes before it was retired. Hence my surprise and confusion.
I wasn't even trying to be rude, just efficient. It's no use fixing a retired kata, because it can never be published again .. and look what you did: you spent time and energy fixing your retired kata.
If you want to get something, anything published, please note that that is not how CW works. Kata that do not add value to CW get published and retired; kata that do add value to CW and are well-executed get published and eventually approved. You and your child are just not in that equation - it depends on the quality of the kata.
You did not do all of the suggested changes.
Please don't say I'm a liar when you just don't know what you ( or even we ) are talking about.
You did not fill in "Example test cases" and "Initial solution" snippets, they still contain initial Codewars template with meaningless initial solution and empty sample tests.
Please read available documentation on kata authoring: https://docs.codewars.com/authoring/kata
Especially, authoring tutorial: https://docs.codewars.com/authoring/tutorials/create-first-kata/, and make sure your kata follows all kata authoring guidelines: https://docs.codewars.com/authoring/guidelines/kata
For one, because of many issues raised below, and secondly: the idea of this kata is just too simple and not that interesting. Creating an interesting kata is difficult, considering there's over 9000 katas published.
Please can someone offer advice?
I don't understand why this Kata was retired.
i changed the function name.
Thank you
i have checked the spelling of tongue
i added some.Thank you
hello Johan.
I don't know what you mean by this.
I had all of these things from the start.
Please explain
