This is not readily apparent from the description, but you DO NOT have to return the original array, a. You can instead return a NEW array. Makes possible solutions much simpler.
For some of the language implementations (like Rust) I would recommend showing what the input of the failing tests are for the full suite. It's hard to know why a final submit isn't passing when all of the example tests pass, and I can only see what the expected output, and actual output are, but not the input.
