I've removed these words from the dictionary. This Kata wasn't supposed to deal with special characters.

The cryptogram will always be a single string consisting of multiple space-delimeted words.

That's an entirely different matter altogether. Currently hints is not even passed in (so it's undefined; it should really be {} for no hints), and if hints are generated, clearly they're supposed to be passed in? So I'd even say it's not working as intended.

Since the Kata can be solved without the hints, perhaps the tests could include some cases where the hints is an empty dictionary

Hints do exist in the random tests but they're not passed into the user function.

DICTIONARY contains words that contain hyphens: e-mail, mm-hmm, long-term, so-called and african-american. It's unspecified how non-alphabet characters work in the cryptogram.
