Collections are a way for you to organize kata so that you can create your own training routines. Every collection you create is public and automatically sharable with other warriors. After you have added a few kata to a collection you and others can train on the kata contained within the collection.
Get started now by creating a new collection.
Not a kata issue, that's a problem with your code, downcase isn't used at all in the test suite nor nil is passed as an argument. Check your code again, and print the input value so you see what you're doing wrong.
Make sure you have selected MRI 2.5 in the version list.

That is kinda the point and why it is tagged with fundamentals.
As I mentioned in a comment down at the very bottom of this discussion page, this Kata was based on a DailyWTF article. And I do find it a lot of fun to see how other people do it.
