Posts everywhere are visible in the Homepage discourse, unless marked as having spoiler content. About the default behaviour, it is visible, not hidden, and afaik there is no way to change it. Rule of thumb, if you post some code, mark it. And no, you won't be in trouble because of an innocent comment like this. And with comments that have no code nor other kind of spoilers, you don't need to mark them at all. In this case, the method you mentioned is almost 100% of the solution, in other of your comments mentioning lower, that's not, so don't worry about backtracking your posts, that wasn't the idea.
