Very similar to what I did. Not as fancy, but readable for "most"

Exactly what I did! I originally started making it "fancy" like the most liked solution but totally agree that this is more readable and you don't even have to think about what's happening. It's just as efficient as well.

This is not as fancy, clever or terse as other solutions, but way more readable, which to me matters the most.

I really like that you did not use else or a ternary, also your use of descriptive variables.
