n=1000000000in one of the tests. Calculating the factorial of this number will take an incredible amount of time no matter how fast your computer is. First guess is right, but I would try another approach, like solving the kata with another path...
I'm guessing it automatically fails if it takes longer than 7000ms to finish. How can we improve the efficiency of the permutation method in ruby?
