I agree it's a bit late to change the kata. I disagree with giving authors of ( new ) 7 kyu kata the idea that asking for input validation is perfectly fine though.

Authors, please just don't do input validation. It has been done and it's generally an additional, unrelated task.

A duplicate issue is closed automatically, it's as simple as that. About fixing it, you can do it yourself with a fork if you want or wait until someone else does it for you.
