I would agree with you if it were possible to rank C++ version lower than 4 kyu. Blue kata are expected to be challenging, and having a built in function strips all the difficulty, and grants a significant reward at the same time.

I do not really agree with the statement that kata is difficult because users do not know about the easy solution. Going this way we could say that "sort the numbers" is difficult because users might not know about sort.

Its not that I think the kata should not have a C++ version at all. I just think that C++ version does not match the 4 kyu difficulty, and will make the kata too easy and the reward too easy to get.
